Spray drift-based pesticide residues on untreated edible crops grown near agricultural areas

چکیده

Abstract We aimed to quantify spray drift-based exposure of fruits and vegetables grown in gardens or allotments next agricultural areas plant protection products (PPP). The amount drift transported into during the treatment tall growing crops field was simulated. Two different test systems an outdoor wind tunnel were used, approximating conditions for application both crop types. For experiments, strawberries, tomatoes lettuce used representing non-target food gardens. After spraying, distance-related residues tracer pyranine measured on three positioned 1–15 m downwind area. Additionally, petri dishes placed front measure ground deposition concurrently. scenarios, good correlation found (linear regression model, R 2 = 0.88–0.97). But unlike scenario, experimental setup shows large deviations from situation, not allowing transfer results situation. experiments trials estimate PPP cultivated near fields. example, a pesticide (1.3 kg active ingredient per ha −1 ) estimated result residue levels 0.39 mg lettuce, 0.32 0.06 5 field, thus indicating exceedance default maximum level (MRL) (0.01 ). Therefore, further in-depth studies are required broaden range refine scenario allow estimations residues.

Fate of Pesticide Residues on Raw Agricultural Crops after Postharvest Storage and Food Processing to Edible Portions

Most analyses of pesticide residues in foods are being performed in Raw Agricultural Commodities (RAC) for a variety of purposes, which include regulatory monitoring, import/export certification, risk assessment, field-application trials, organic food verification, and marketing to consumers. The levels of the positive detections in these analyses are generally being estimated on the basis of e...

Eye-Safe Lidar System for Pesticide Spray Drift Measurement

Spray drift is one of the main sources of pesticide contamination. For this reason, an accurate understanding of this phenomenon is necessary in order to limit its effects. Nowadays, spray drift is usually studied by using in situ collectors which only allow time-integrated sampling of specific points of the pesticide clouds. Previous research has demonstrated that the light detection and rangi...

Studies on Analysis of Pesticide Residues in Foods (XXVIII) Determination of 33 Organophosphorus Pesticides in Agricultural Crops

A modified method for the simultaneous determination of 33 organophosphorus pesticides in agricultural crops was presented. After extraction of samples with acetonitrile, the pesticides are transfered into 20% dichloromethane in benzene, cleaned up by charcoal column chromatography, and then determined simultaneously by the gas liquid chromatography with a flame photometric detector using the c...

Higher antioxidant and lower cadmium concentrations and lower incidence of pesticide residues in organically grown crops: a systematic literature

Demand for organic foods is partially driven by consumers’ perceptions that they are more nutritious. However, scientific opinion is divided on whether there are significant nutritional differences between organic and non-organic foods, and two recent reviews have concluded that there are no differences. In the present study, we carried out meta-analyses based on 343 peer-reviewed publications ...
